Hello and welcome to my site!

The main purpose of this site is to have fun, explore, and experiment with methods for analyzing and visualizing data spatially. I currently work as a geospatial analyst analyzing spatial data and imagery for patterns and solutions to complex questions for a variety of purposes. My passion involves identifying areas at risk to extremist organizations to help protect and aid refugee and internally displaced groups. I’ve had the honor of working on the Enough Project and LRA / al Shabaab projects which have helped to identify locations and populations at risk to extremist activity and bring humanitarian aid to areas in need.

I earned an M.S. from the University of Southern California in Geographic Information Science and Technology, a Graduate Certificate from Pennsylvania State in Geospatial Intelligence in 2015, and a B.A. from American Military University in Intelligence Studies. Currently, I am working on another Graduate Certificate at Pennsylvania State in Applied Statistics. My thesis for my masters can be found here and won second place for Thesis of the Year at USC as well as third place from the UNIGIS International Association. The work explores using statistical methods and dasymetric mapping to estimate population at risk in data poor environments using the Boko Haram crisis in Nigeria.

Certifications include the GISP from GISCI and the GPC-F from NGA.

My research interests involve spatial statistics, spatial analysis and modeling (model builder/ python), risk analysis, remote sensing, political geography, predictive modeling, extremist organizations, and Africa.

Please look around and feel free to ask questions, provide constructive criticism, or give extensive praise! Thanks for stopping by!
